Two of Three Inaugural HCS Novice Teachers of the Year are Project Inspire Graduates

Congratulations to TWO Project Inspire alumni for being awarded the inaugural Hamilton County Schools Novice Teachers of the Year!! This is the first year that the State of Tennessee recognizes novice teachers with 3 or less years of teaching experience.

As an English teacher at East Lake Academy of Fine Arts, Kelsie Anderson (left), Cohort 10, was named the Middle School Teacher of the Year. Kelsie is known for providing a safe space for students to learn and thrive in her classroom, full of high energy and high expectations.

As an Algebra I teacher at East Ridge High School, Kari Mays (right), Cohort 11, was named High School Teacher of the Year. Kari uses her magnetic personality to form connections with students to get them thinking differently and get the best out of them every day.

We are so incredibly proud of these two educators who were ready from day one. We are excited to see the continued impact that they make in students lives, their schools, the district, and the Chattanooga community.
